Translating Culture is a multimedia collection of folk tales from cultures across the globe, including Russian, Spanish, and Arabic. The stories have been selected to showcase the similarities and differences between story-telling techniques across these cultures. This collection was curated by Sofi Sanders, who also wrote an accompanying article exploring the cross-cultural interconnections demonstrated in this collection, available in the non-fiction section here: “On Translating Culture”

This is a collection of multimedia stories that “translates” the text of the story into a visual and auditory experience. This was designed to work on computers only. For the full experience, turn audio on by clicking on the files provided before starting to read the story.
